We’d Rather Diagnose Than Guess
A lot of unnecessary plumbing work starts with an assumption. Low water pressure gets blamed on the well pump. Water beside the toilet gets blamed on the wax seal. A basement puddle gets blamed on the sump pump. Sometimes those guesses are correct, but the symptom alone rarely tells the whole story.
We prefer to look at how the system is behaving before deciding what should be changed. If water pressure is weak throughout the house, the pump, pressure tank, filter, valve and treatment equipment may all deserve attention. If the same drain keeps clogging, the important question becomes why it keeps happening rather than how quickly it can be cleared again.
Plumbing for the Way Properties Are Actually Used
Cottages and rural properties create plumbing situations that do not always show up in a typical city home. Seasonal shutdowns, freezing temperatures, private water systems, pumps and pressure tanks can all change the way a problem needs to be approached.
Understanding how the property is used is often just as important as understanding the fixture that is not working. That is why we ask questions about whether the house is seasonal, whether it uses well water and whether other fixtures are showing the same symptoms.
